The Contrada of the Tower is one of the seventeen contrade of Siena, located in the Terzo of San Martino. Its emblem is an elephant with a red caparison bearing a white cross; on the back of the animal, a tower topped with a small red banner with a white cross. Its colors are crimson red striped with white and blue. The motto of the contrada is “Beyond strength, power.”

The contrada holds the title of Priora for hosting the first meeting of the Magistrato delle Contrade. The Terzo it belongs to is San Martino. The military companies of the contrada are Rialto, Salicotto di sopra, Salicotto di sotto, and San Giusto. The allied contrada of the Tower is the Bruco. The adversarial contrada of the Tower is the Oca. The patron saint of the contrada is Saint James the Greater Apostle. The titular festival is celebrated around July 25th. The contrada’s guild is that of the battilana.

The Contrada of the Tower is one of the oldest contrade in Siena and has a long and rich history. The contrada is deeply cherished by its contradaioli, who are always ready to support it in its races at the Palio.
